League Two club Forest Environmentally friendly Rovers say one of their gamers was the sufferer of alleged homophobic abuse for the duration of Saturday’s 2-1 win about Tranmere.
The Gloucestershire staff say they will assist an FA investigation into the incident.
A club statement go through: “Forest Eco-friendly Rovers are unhappy to listen to of alleged homophobic abuse aimed at 1 of our players through Saturday’s video game with Tranmere Rovers.
“With football clubs and organisations switching off social media accounts in a collective protest versus on-line abuse by lovers, it was especially disappointing to have this happen on the pitch.
“We require better from gamers if we are to assume improved from admirers.
“To make sure there is no put in soccer for abuse of any variety – that has to get started on the pitch.
“The club will completely assistance the FA investigation into this issue.”
