Soon immediately after the announcement, the Rugby Soccer Union (RFU) confirmed that Harry would be stepping down from his function as a patron.
It mentioned in a article on the England Rugby Twitter account: “We would like to thank Prince Harry for his time and determination to the RFU equally in his position as Patron and Vice Patron.
“The RFU has considerably valued his contribution to advertising and marketing and supporting the match.”
It was followed by a statement from the Rugby Football League, of which Harry was also a patron.
It claimed: “The Rugby Football League thanks The Duke of Sussex for his time, treatment and commitment in supporting Rugby League at all ranges in the latest years – from the children’s activity to the Challenge Cup, the England teams and RLWC2021.”
The Nationwide Theatre, of which the Duchess of Sussex was a patron, tweeted: “The National Theatre is extremely grateful for the support presented by the Duchess of Sussex all through the system of her patronage.
“The Duchess championed our do the job with communities and young folks throughout the British isles, and our mission to make theatre available to all.
