Juho Könkkölä put in upwards of 50 hrs scoring and folding just a single sheet of Wenzhou rice paper to develop this painstakingly thorough samurai finish with plated armor, classic helmet, and sword. Commencing with a 95 x 95-centimeter web page, the 23-12 months-previous Finnish artist employed a blend of wet and dry origami techniques to form the 28-centimeter-tall warrior of his own design and style. “There are various hundreds of techniques to fold it from the sq. and there are possibly 1000’s of individual folds,” he claimed in a statement, noting that crafting the geometric patterns for the armor was the most tough. “The asymmetry in the structure permitted me to incorporate (a) sword on only a person arm even though being ready to make the character look symmetric.”

Könkkölä documented his folding process in the video clip beneath, and check out out his Instagram for a broad-ranging selection of origami figures. (by using Twisted Sifter)
